Transportation officials provide update on rural roadway projects to Warren County Fiscal Court
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- At Tuesday’s Fiscal Court meeting, Warren County Magistrates learned how much money will be spent on rural roadways over the next year.
According to officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, there is just over $2 million available for maintenance and projects.
Most of the money, just over $623,000, will be used for routine maintenance and traffic on 155 miles of rural secondary roads.
Another $425,000 will be used to resurface 3.0 miles of Barren River road beginning at the intersection with Veteran’s Memorial Highway, extending north to the intersection with Belle Rive Circle.
The project includes base failure repairs, drainage improvements and permanent pavement markings.
Other projects include:
Construction of penetrated shoulders on 3.0 miles of Barren River Road from the intersection with Veteran’s Memorial Highway to intersection with Belle Rive Circle: $47,019
Installing drilled soil nails to repair a roadway slope failure on Jackson Bridge Road: $160,000
Resurfacing 3.583 miles of Jackson Bridge Road beginning at the Butler County line, extending east to a point 1,700 ft west of the Gasper River Bridge: 371,656
Resurfacing 2.428 miles of Galloways Mill Road at the Butler County line, extending east to a point 2,400 ft west of the Gasper River Bridge: $204,110
