CASA & Guardians of the Children host pajama drive with Dice Run and Silent Auction

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Guardians of the Children is partnering with Court Appointed Special Advocate, or CASA to collect pajamas for children this year.

Guardians of the Children are biker heroes that protect and serve child abuse victims. With this upcoming event, they will raise pajamas for CASA to give to children around Christmas time.

This Saturday  people can register for the “Dice Run & Pajama Drive.”

The event is split into two different parts, the dice run and the silent auction.

For the first part, the dice run, people can meet at Harley Davidson in Bowling Green where they’ll ride around with the Guardians. There will be three different stops on the path: Spillway Bar & Grill, Chaney’s Dairy Barn and Flip’n Axe.

At each stop, participants will roll their dice, and at the end of the ride, people will add up their dice roll totals for prizes.

After the ride is over, Guardians of the Children will host a silent auction where auction items will go to the highest bidders at 5 p.m.

To participate in the dice run, registration costs $10, but for people who bring pajamas, pillows, robes, slippers and other items like that in kids’ sizes, the hosts will wave their registration fees.

“Kentucky has been number one with child abuse for at least three years, and they’ve been in the top 10 for almost a decade. It’s just ridiculous to me, you know those poor, innocent children need a voice, and they can’t be their voice,” CASA & Guardians of the Children member Dawn Westphalen said. “They’re scared. I hope that we can stuff the CASA cars full of pajamas for these kids.

“When they’re going into a foster home and get pulled from their homes, they get that little backpack they get to pull along. The last thing that they think about are pajamas. So, it’s really a needed items for these children. It’s something we can hopefully get all different kinds,” she said.

Vehicles of all types are welcome to join the ride. People can also enjoy food that Harley will provide this weekend. Registration begins at 10 a.m., and rides start at 11 a.m. and ends around 4 p.m.
