New teachers get prepared for school year at Glasgow High School orientation

GLASGOW, Ky. – Classrooms of a local high school were filled Thursday morning, but not with students quite yet.

New teachers at Glasgow High School spent the morning getting acclimated to the school and their positions. It’s a chance to get to know their co-workers and district administrators.

Topics of discussion included tips on how to lead students to success through the year, and general information on how to thrive in the school district.

Supervisor of instruction Tara Martin says it was uplifting to see new members of the Scottie family jump in.

“I think it’s fantastic. One of the best things I think a calling in life is to be an educator. To have the 17 individuals we have with us right now this morning, it’s warms your heart to know they want to jump in and make a difference in the child’s life,” Martin said.

The first day of school for Glasgow students is Aug. 17.
