Metcalfe man accused of assaulting woman with dinner plate

EDMONTON, Ky. – On Monday, just before 1 p.m., an ambulance was dispatched to 302 W Stockton Street in Edmonton in reference to an assault complaint.
The Edmonton Police Department responded to the scene.
According to law enforcement, a woman was assaulted at an address on Greensburg Road in Metcalfe County.
The woman was transported via ambulance to TJ Samson Hospital.
The Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office was requested to investigate.
According to a release on Facebook, the woman was inside a residence on Greensburg Road when she was became involved in a verbal altercation with Bobby W. Rhinehart Jr.
The argument escalated, and Rhinehart struck the womab in the left side of the head with a glass dinner plate, according to the post, and the woman suffered several lacerations.
Rhinehart then prevented her from leaving the residence to seek medical care, according to the post.
About an hour later, the woman was able to escape the residence and went to Edmonton to seek help.
Members of the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office were unable to locate Rhinehart the same day.
As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Rhinehart.
On Tuesday, Rhinehart was located on Claude
Jones Road and placed under arrest.
Rhinehart was lodged in the Barren
County Jail and is charged with second-degree assault, domestic abuse and first-degree unlawful imprisonment.
This incident remains under investigation by Sheriff Lonnie Hodges.
