Student reports possible threat at Barren County Middle School
GLASGOW, Ky.- A student at Barren County Middle School is being praised by district administrators after reporting a possible threat.
According to the Barren County School District, the student reported the possible threat to school officials on Thursday.
The information was then communicated to local law enforcement.
The issue was quickly resolved and it was determined there was no credibility to the threat.
The school district encourages everyone to report any safety concerns to an adult contact or local law enforcement, just as this student did.

Barren County Schools’ “See Something, Say Something” campaign is being implemented effectively. Yesterday, a Barren County Middle School student reported to school officials the possibility of a threat. The information was communicated with local law enforcement, school administration and district officials. In accordance with board policy and state law, the discipline issue has been resolved. It was determined that there was no credibility to the threat. We certainly appreciate the open lines of communication between our students, staff, and parents regarding this situation and any other potential issues in the future. Our commitment is to continue to be proactive and responsive in any event regarding the safety of our students and staff. We will remain diligent in our efforts to provide a safe and secure learning environment.
