COVID in the bluegrass, daily update
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -Wednesday, Governor Andy Beshear reported the highest number of new COVID- 19 cases the commonwealth has seen since February 3rd.
1,511 cases were confirmed Wednesday with 1,072 probable cases that have yet to be confirmed. 10 new deaths were also announced, including a 21-year-old in Davis County.
Governor Beshear said that the commonwealth is not moving in the right direction.
As part of the daily COVID-19 report Governor Beshear said Kentucky’s positivity rate has also increased to above 10%.
“The delta variant is serious and real and we have to be willing to do what it takes to protect our people” said Beshear.
Governor Beshear will hold another Team Kentucky update Thursday regarding the fight against COVID-19.
