Man arrested on hotel robbery

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Franklin police officers along with South-Central Kentucky Drug Task force investigators arrested a Franklin man Wednesday on a Sunday hotel robbery.

Just before 10 p.m. Sunday, Franklin police were called to the Days Inn on Trotter Lane for an armed robbery, according to a release from Franklin Police Department.

Surveillance footage shows a man with a towel over his head who appeared to have pointed a gun a hotel clerk and demanded money from the register, according to the release.

Police arrested Michael E. Carver, 33, on first-degree robbery charges Wednesday, according to police. He was additionally charged with tampering with physical evidence, theft of a vehicle over $500, menacing, no operators-moped license and possession of open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

He was lodged in the Simpson County Detention Center. His bond is set at $25,000, according to online jail records.
