Upcoming event shows parents how to calmly teach kids to drive
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – While it’s satisfying to know your child is able to drive on his or her own, getting them to that point can be a bit stressful. An upcoming event will help with that.
The stress less for the drivers’ test event will take place at the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park at 7 p.m. Tuesday. This event is to show parents how to remain calm when teaching their kids to drive.
The program will be led by professional British racer Andy Pilgrim, and he’ll show participants how to manage the stress of driving lessons for both the parents and the teen.
“Getting parents ready to not slam the invisible break, not raise their voices and react really strongly to their kids learning how to drive is a great method of teaching things, because that is the person teaching you how to drive is your parent,” said library assistant Jennifer Ferguson.
Attendees will be entered to win a lap around the track in a new Corvette.
