Mobile science activity center to visit 2 county schools

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s high-tech Mobile Science Activity Center will visit Lost River Elementary Feb. 26 through Feb. 28 and Rich Pond Elementary March 5 through March7 to teach students about agriculture and its vital role in their everyday lives.
Three activity centers travel to schools statewide to give students the opportunity to conduct scientific experiments related to agriculture using current educational standards and core content.
The centers use tablet computers, a 70-inch LED monitor and an all-in-one touchscreen desktop computer to interact with students. The mobile units contain internal generators; heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and handicapped-accessible ramps.
The mobile units are administered by the Education and Outreach Division in the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Office of Agricultural Marketing.
