Suspicious package sent to Rand Paul’s home in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by United States Capital Police late this afternoon in reference to a suspicious package delivered to the home of Senator Rand Paul.

The package was removed and transported to the Bowling Green Fire Department for analysis by their WMD team, Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the envelope contained a white powdery substance.

On the outside of the envelop showed a picture of Rand Paul with several injuries and a gun pointed at his head made of symbols.

The envelope also said, “I’ll finish what your neighbor started, you ************”.

Sheriff Brett Hightower says the envelope was taken to the Bowling Green Fire Department and tested negative for toxins and explosives.

“All different either local or federal authorities will look into that because, you know, these types of threats are very hostile in nature and so anybody that is threatening anybody of this caliber, it’s just very dangerous,” said Hightower.

The preliminary analysis identified the substance as non-toxic, according to the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Further analysis will be conducted on both the substance and package.
