Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College celebrates graduates in a new venue
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Graduates of a local Bowling Green college celebrated their achievements Friday, in a unique venue.
That venue is the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center, which is where faculty and staff celebrated the Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College graduates. The ceremony started at 9 a.m. Friday.
Graduates individually met with SKYCTC president and chief executive officer Dr. Phillip Neal to get their credential covers. The ceremony continued through 6 p.m. to allow for social distancing.
Graduates also received alumni gift bags, and they had the chance to take plenty of pictures with family. One graduate says he is thankful to have the opportunity to walk in a graduation.
“It was pretty cool. I was surprised we had a graduation, and I’m thankful we did, it was a cool experience. I’m sure they worked hard to make this happen,” said SKYCTC graduate Payne Flatt.
The degrees will be mailed out to the graduates at a later date.
