Warren East leadership class shows support for teachers with cancer

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – There are two teachers at Warren East High School.

Lisa Amos and Cyndi Mann.

They work across the hall from each other and are in the same department.

Unfortunately, they also both have cancer.

However, they’re receiving overwhelming love and support from teachers and students.

One example of this is Warren East’s leadership class.

Filled with a select group of seniors, the students are standing by their side through it all.

Whether it be fundraisers selling pizza rolls, creating t-shirts or putting up banners in their honor.

The students in the leadership class are also donating funds to the American Cancer Society.

All to show Amos and Mann they are not alone in their battle with cancer.

Amos was diagnosed in November 2017 and receives treatment every three weeks, including this Friday.

Mann was told she has stage one breast cancer in July and underwent surgery in August.

Just less than a year of each other.

Now, their goal is to make the most of their days and be a positive influence on their students.

But, the students need the support of their parents and community to meet their fundraising goal.

They plan to present a check to the American Cancer Society in May at Relay for Life.

One school uniting in love and faith for two of their own.
