Graves County man arrested on false robbery charge
A Graves County man was arrested on Friday morning after police say he lied to authorities, claiming that he had been robbed.
According to WPSD, 33 year old Mark Swanson of Boaz, told officers that a man robbed him at knife-point last week, stealing $250 from him. However, Swanson was interviewed again, after detectives found multiple inconsistencies in the first interview.
According to police, Swanson then admitted that he gave the man $250 for Marijuana, later discovering that what he bought was actually Oregano. Police say Swanson made the robbery story up to get the other man in trouble.
Swanson was arrested on a charge of falsely reporting an incident.
