Cultural diversity and environmental sustainability highlighted at Sky Worldwide event
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-A local college once again brought awareness to not only the diversity in the surrounding community, but also how to keep our community green.
An event called Sky Worldwide started Monday morning at South Central Kentucky Community and Technical College. The goal is to highlight the different organizations with a focus on cultural diversity and environmental sustainability.
The event is normally held in person, but this time, tables were set up with QR codes for students to scan to get more information. For cultural diversity, organizations like the International Center of Kentucky were available to be scanned for information. Bowling Green Public Works represented sustainability.
Students say knowing about both of these aspects are very beneficial.
“I think it’s important to learn about this before I graduate and get out in the work field,” said SKYCTC student Britani Gipson.
“It’s very important because our world is ever changing, and we would like to have students adapt and overcome those changing situations,” added student Sierra Dunn.
