WKU Office of Admissions hosts Head for the Hill event
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Some schools are closed for President’s Day.
However, Western Kentucky University was still buzzing with high school students and their families.
All looking to make WKU their next home.
Until 2 p.m. today, the WKU Office of Admissions is hosting their Head for the Hill event.
Head for the Hill is a free open house offering comprehensive looks at academic offerings, student activities, and the campus.
The event offers sessions providing information about the honors college, greek life, housing and more.
Incoming students and their families had meetings with representatives from different academic departments.
Some of those include student services, financial aid, and housing.
We spoke to the Director of Recruitment Jace Lux, who led the welcome portion.
Lux says Head for the Hill shows students they’ll have support all four years of their college career.
He also says the goal for the Office of Admissions in 2019 is to lessen student’s anxiety going into college.
Lux feels it’s vital in making their transition from high school to college as smooth as possible.
