Police capture escaped inmate
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Sunday night Tennessee law enforcement authorities captured a Warren County Regional Jail inmate who escaped Feb. 10 while taking out the trash as part of a supervised three-man work crew.
Police caught Benjamin Pedigo at an address in Jamestown, Tenn., Kentucky State Police Post 3 spokesman Jeremy Hodges said. Pedigo was lodged in the Fentress County Jail Sunday night.
“It was good old-fashioned police work,” Hodges said.
“The investigating officer from Kentucky had contacted a source following up with leads here in Kentucky which led him to an address in Jamestwon, Tenn.,” he said.
The investigator contacted Tennessee law enforcement officers who responded to the address troopers provided, and Pedigo was taken into custody without incident, Hodges said.
Extradition proceedings will have to take place before Pedigo can be brought to Kentucky to face charges related to the escape.
