2019 Junior Achievement celebrates Business Hall of Fame laureates
BOWLING GREEN Ky.-Thursday night, Junior Achievement of South-Central Kentucky gathered to recognize individuals who are making or have made a difference in the community.
The bi-annual event was held at the Knicely Conference Center and its purpose was to show recognition to the 2019 Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame laureates. These inductees were selected for their work as role models to local youth, and having an economic impact on the area, among other factors.
The two 2019 laureates are Dave Chandler and the late Lester Key. Key’s family came to unveil his portrait in his honor. The portraits will be added with other laureates in the Knicely Conference Center.
Chandler says it is a big honor to be seen alongside the other laureates, and that Junior Achievement is the real winner.
“A lot of them are mentors and certainly friends of mine over the years. I think everyone would say it’s nice to be recognized, but the real winner here is JA for what they do for the kids,” Chandler said.
The 2021 laureates will be recognized on March 23.
