New Bowling Green Fire Department engine hits the street

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-One of the Bowling Green Fire Department’s newest trucks is now in service.

Engine 3 officially went into service Wednesday afternoon. The truck is a 2018 model that has a 500-gallon water tank, LED lighting and more storage space.

The truck is being housed at the fire station on Bennett Lane off of Nashville Road.

Engine 3, along with three other fire trucks and a new rescue engine were delivered last December.

In March 2018, the Bowling Green City Commission approved a $3.5 million loan to purchase the fire engines for the department.
