Arcadia Senior Living throws Valentine’s Day party for residents
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Valentine’s Day is looking a little different this year and at Arcadia Senior Living it’s looking more fun than ever.
Friday Arcadia threw a Valentine’s Day themed party for all of their residents.
“It’s so awesome to see the residents, just the excitement on their faces, and just the anticipation of who’s gonna win King and Queen this year. I can guarantee after this party today they’re gonna be trying to figure out who will win next year,” said Arcadia’s Community Relations Director Paige Hughes.
One of the most special activities of the day was crowning the King and Queen of Valentine’s Day, King Jim Lockhart and Queen Jeanne Mays.
“Oh we love to party. We’re always ready to party here,” said Queen Mays.
“It’s just a special day, especially when my wife was living. It would be great of course if she was here but everybody’s great here,” said King Lockhart.
People voted throughout the week by donating 25 cents for each vote cast. They raised over $3,000 and all proceeds go towards the Alzheimer’s Association.
“It’s amazing for our facility but it’s near and dear to my heart, my grandfather had dementia and just to find the cure is what we need,” said Arcadia’s Activities Director Maitlin Nuckols.
And not only did Arcadia crown a King and Queen, they also had a Prince and Princess- the couple, John and Jonell Price.
