Sandwich shop awards Richardsville Volunteer Fire Department with life saving equipment

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Richardsville Volunteer Fire Department in Warren County is getting some much needed help, thanks to a sandwich shop.

According to a news release from Firehouse Subs, the restaurant’s Public Safety Foundation has awarded the volunteer fire department with over $9,500 to purchase four automated external defibrillators.

The funding from the foundation will allow the department to stage one of the defibrillators on each of the department’s engines and medical response vehicles.

The Richardsville Volunteer Fire Department covers a large first response area. The 33 volunteers at the department include 14 EMTs and one paramedic who responded to over 1,000 incidents in 2018.
