Metcalfe County bridge reopens to traffic after extensive work
EDMONTON, Ky.- A bridge in Metcalfe County has reopened to traffic.
The KY 496 bridge over Oil Well Branch had been closed since January 24.
The closure was necessary while work was being done to install a new bridge deck.
The price tag for the project, just over $129,000.
While the bridge has reopened, the contractor will still be working on other parts of the bridge.
The project was part of the Bridging Kentucky Program, a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet initiative to rehabilitate, repair or replace more than 1,000 critical structures in all 120 Kentucky counties over the next six years.
