Warming Our Veterans project to give veterans warm winter clothes
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- With a cold winter coming up, a service project just kicked off to serve those who have served our nation.
The Warming our Veterans project held by the NAACP is a service that is seeking out donations of cold weather clothes like coats, sweaters, hats and gloves just to name a few.
The project started Friday and will go on through the entire month of January. Donations can be dropped off at State Street Baptist Church Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monetary donations are also accepted.
President of the Bowling Green-Warren County chapter of the NAACP Ryan Dearbone said he’s confident that the community will turn out and donate.
“We’re very confident because we know that people not only love our veterans, but people also want to take care of each other. Because of that, we know people will show up and show out,” Dearbone said,
These donated items will go to the Kentucky Veterans Alliance Center in Bowling Green.
