WKU Lady Toppers fall to Mercer, 71-54

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Western Kentucky Lady Toppers dropped to 1-4 on the season as they fell to Mercer 71-54 at Diddle Arena Friday night.

WKU hung tough through the first two quarters, trailing 26-25 at the halftime break.

However, it was a different story in the second half as the Bears outscored the Lady Toppers 26-17 in the 3rd quarter and 19-12 in the final frame to secure the 17-point victory.

Fatou Pouye led the home team with 13 points (6-9 FG), while true freshman Hope Sivori added 11 points in the losing effort.

As announced on Friday morning, Western Kentucky’s December 20th home game vs Samford has been postponed due to Covid-related issues within the Samford program, so the Lady Toppers’ next scheduled contest will come on January 1st vs Charlotte.
