Boys and Girls Club drive-thru Christmas

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-A local Christmas event was held Thursday, one that was modified to make sure everyone was safe.

The Boys and Girls Club of Bowling Green held what was called the drive-thru club Christmas extravaganza.

Members and their families made the trip to the club to drive through a series of Christmas themed activities, including socially distanced masked pictures with Santa and the Grinch, receiving presents that the kids had on their wish lists, and hot chocolate.

President and chief executive officer of the Boys and Girls club, Liz Bernard, said this drive-thru style event was inspired by a similar one over the summer.

“We had such great success with the drive-thru carnival that we thought we could replicate this for our Christmas program, and I think we’re really on to something. In fact, it may be something that sticks around even well after Covid,” Bernard said.
