Hilltoppers’ Offense focuses on execution ahead of game vs #11 BYU

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It’s no surprise that the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers’ football team will have its work cut out this weekend as they prepare for a road matchup at #11 BYU.

WKU’s struggling offense will face a Cougars’ defense that ranks as one of the nation’s best so far this season and is allowing opponents to score an average of just 14 points per game.

Tops’ Offensive Coordinator Bryan Ellis says his unit will have to put together long, methodical drives in order for the team to have a shot at an upset.

“The biggest thing is don’t make it harder than it already is… we’re going to have to score some points in order to stay in it,” Ellis explains, “…if we can sustain some long drives and finish those drives with touchdowns, that would for sure give us a chance (to win).”

Western Kentucky is currently a 28.5 point underdog in Saturday night’s nationally-televised affair.

Kickoff is set for 9:15 p.m. local time and the game can be seen on ESPN.
