10th anniversary of the Lone Survivor Foundation observed in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Late Monday afternoon a group of motorcyclists made a stop in Bowling Green, raising a flag to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Lone Survivor Foundation.
The motorcyclists made the trip to escort the Texas state flag to the flagpole located in front of the Bowling Green VA Clinic.
Students involved in the Bowling Green High School JROTC helped raise the flag.
The Lone Survivor Foundation is based in Texas and has been touring the flag around the country for charity while also raising awareness for the services they provide.
Those services include no-cost therapeutic help for service members, veterans, and their families to aid them in recovery from combat trauma. Representatives from Valor Health care came to witness the event as well.
Valor Healthcare operates more than 30 VA community-based outpatient clinics in the United States, including the one in Bowling Green.
Many local veterans attended the event.
