Roots and Ramble successfully opens during pandemic

GLASGOW Ky.-A new apparel shop recently opened its doors to the public in Glasgow during this pandemic.

Betsy Tracy is the owner of the Roots + Ramble clothing shop in downtown Glasgow. The shop was online only for years but opened as a brick and mortar shop in late August.

Tracy says the pandemic helped her form a business model. The physical store is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, while the online shop is open 24/7. This is to cut down on having too many people in the shop at once.

When clothes are worn in the fitting room but not purchased, they are not immediately put back on the racks. Tracy shares this advice for any entrepreneur during this pandemic.

“For me, it was a matter of saying ‘when I’m 85-90 years old, am I going to wish I’d rented that little spot and opened that shop even though there was a pandemic going on?’ I would do it and try it rather than having the regret of not trying,” Tracy said.

Like most stores, the boutique does require masks to enter.
