Barren County School district prepares for virtual kindergarten summer camp

GLASGOW, Ky.- The Barren County School District is preparing for its 5th annual kindergarten readiness camp with a unique twist for 2020.

The camp will be all virtual. It’s an experience that gives incoming kindergarten students a chance to learn new skills including letter and sound recognition and counting.

The camp is from July 27 through July 31.

The district’s director of special programs Cynthia York said she’s glad the children still get to participate.

“We’re proud to always try to meet the needs of our students both district wide as well as individually. We’re just proud to be able to continue to host camp even though it is going to be in a different format,” York said.

Students are not required to have attended preschool to attend the kindergarten virtual summer camp.
