Edmonson County K-9 Deputy has died

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – The Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office announced devastating news last night. The agency’s beloved K-9 Deputy, Tango, has died.

Tango received a final salute on Tuesday before being walked into the Thomas and England Veterinary Clinic in Smiths Grove.

Tango was just five years old.

He was recently diagnosed with an aggressive kidney disease. With his health rapidly failing, the office made a difficult decision to have Tango put down.

Tango joined the team in September of 2016.

During his career, Tango was featured on episodes of LivePD and America’s Top Dog on the A&E network.

Tango was paired with Deputy Jordan Jones.

Edmonson County Sheriff Shane Doyle says he would like to have another K-9 in the future, but it is not something the agency is going to act on just now.
