Simpson man accused of trafficking heroin, other drugs
FRANKLIN, Ky. – A Simpson County man is behind bars after deputies said they located methamphetamine, marijuana and heroin inside a vehicle.
Friday morning, someone saw Matthew Allen, 25, sleeping in the driver’s seat of a vehicle at the Franklin T-Mart on South Main Street.
Following a search of the vehicle, deputies said they located methamphetamine, marijuana and heroin in baggies, according to his arrest citation.
Allen had slurred speech, failed a field sobriety test and refused a blood test, according to his citation. There was also an unrelated warrant out for his arrest on a shoplifting charge.
Allen is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense methamphetamine, trafficking in a controlled substance first offense heroin, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was lodged in the Simpson County Detention Center.
