Big Red Faces BYU’s “Cosmo The Cougar” in Mascot Bracket Championship

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The road from play-in game afterthought to the country’s top mascot is nearly complete.

On Tuesday night, WKU’s “Big Red” closed out a dominant performance against Oklahoma University’s “Boomer Sooner” to reach the championship game of Sirius XM College Sports Channel’s “Mascot Bracket Challenge”.

Now, the big, furry blob goes up against the other play-in game contestant in BYU’s “Cosmo the Cougar” for bragging rights as the top mascot in Division I collegiate sports.

Voting began on Wednesday at 11 a.m. CST and will last for a full 48 hours until Friday morning.

As of Wednesday evening, nearly 28,000 votes have been cast and early results have Big Red in a surprisingly comfortable 55% to 45% lead.
