Coffee and Eggs hosts Donation Event in support of BRASS

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – We are in the season of giving.

That’s why one local establishment wants to show support for an important organization.

One that provides services and safety to those in domestic violence situations.

Coffee and Eggs hosted their first donation event to recognize BRASS, or Barren River Area Safe Space.

During the event, you could hear Abby Lawalin performing her original song “Give a Little.”

It’s co-written by Courtney Ervin in honor of domestic abuse victims.

Abby is also currently a Barista at Coffee and Eggs.

BRASS is a nonprofit organization that serves the needs of children and families displaced and disrupted by domestic violence.

The Executive Director of BRASS Tori Henninger shared that 1 in 3 women face domestic violence situations.

She also said brass targeted 405 cases last year alone which they will surpass this year.

The owner of Coffee and Eggs Eric Avery knows how important BRASS is to our communities.

Being a domestic violence victim himself, he wants today’s event to inspire other victims to find their safe space.

Avery’s safe space is Coffee and Eggs as it stands today.

Coffee and eggs will be collecting donations for BRASS online until December 31st.

Since children have to leave everything behind in domestic situations, every donation helps.

You can donate on Coffee and Eggs’ website or on BRASS’ Facebook page.

There is a donation button on Coffee and Eggs’ website which will be available until December 31st.
