AAA: Local gas prices likely to continue falling
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Due to concerns over the coronavirus and a price war between oil producers, local gas prices are expected to continue falling, according to AAA.
In just the last week, prices dropped by six cents in south central Kentucky, averaging $2.18 a gallon for regular gasoline.
The rapid decline in crude prices has increased market concerns that an oil price war may break out this week between major crude producers.
The market continues to worry that the impact of Covid-19 will lead to a reduction in global economic growth with crude demand expected to decrease.
Until it appears that the international public health threat from the virus decreases, AAA says crude prices are likely to continue facing significant downward pressure.
