State police arrest one in connection to Hart County shooting
Kentucky State Police continue to search for Jeremy Wheeler, 32, who is wanted in relation to a shooting in Hart County.
Police were called at 3:40 p.m. to 880 Charlie Mansfield Road where they found a man, identified as Steven Mansfield, who had been shot multiple times.
Mansfield had returned to his home and was confronted by an armed gunman police identified as Wheeler, according to a release from state police. Mansfield was taken by ambulance to a hospital. His current condition has not been released.
While Wheeler remains at large, state police detectives on Tuesday arrested Kevin E. Sarkella, 38, of La Mesa, Calif., in connection to the shooting, according to KSP Post 3 spokesman Trooper Jeremy Hodges. He is charged with complicity to first-degree burglary and complicity first-degree assault.
He is lodged in the Hart County Jail without bond.
