There are many children around the world who look forward to Christmas for the gifts.
However, there are thousands more who would go without a single toy.
Thankfully, Operation Christmas Child changes that.
This is the third year Christ United Methodist Church has served as a drop-off center.
The community is invited to bring toys, hygiene items, school supplies and more.
Then you’ll pack them in shoeboxes which will be delivered to kids in 160 plus countries.
At 9:00 AM, 4th and 5th-grade students from Dishman McGinnis school brought items and packed their own shoeboxes.
They’ve helped do this since Christ UMC’s first year.
One student from another country who gave a box last year also once received one herself.
Paulette Wells, a drop off coordinator, says they prepare months in advance eager to bless God’s children.
You can drop off items from now until the 19th.
Drop off hours at Christ UMC are 3-7 PM Thursday and Friday.
For the weekend hours, you can drop off from 10-12 PM on Saturday and 12-5 PM on Sunday.
