Grand jury indicts man accused of raping woman he met on a web site

A Warren County grand jury Wednesday indicted a Bowling Green man on one count each of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy of a woman he met on an online dating site.

The woman told police Sept. 2 she met a man named Victor Lancelot, who was later identified as Victor Bisengimana, 26, who she agreed to let pick her up at her home, according to his arrest citation. After the woman spent time with Bisengimana she asked him to take her back home.

Bisengimana said he would take her home the following day and she could sleep in his bed while he slept on a downstairs couch. The woman said Bisengimana came upstairs and forced her to kiss him, he then held her arms down and performed a sex act on her against her will and raped her ignoring her requests to stop, according to his arrest citation.

The woman later called a friend to come pick her up. Bisengimana sent text messages to her that appeared to police to be an admission of guilt. Bisengimana spoke to police and admitted to having intercourse with the woman but denied that it was a sexual assault, according to his citation.

He is lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail. His bond is $10,000.
