WKU Sisterhood awards $55,000 in grants

After holding its annual meeting on Nov. 16, the WKU Sisterhood has awarded grants to four projects totaling $55,000 for programs and initiatives in the university community.

A $6,602 portion of the grant will be used to create an online state-registered nurse aide program to create an affordable, high-quality course for WKU pre-health profession students.

Another $5,000 will be set aside for the Xposure High School Journalism Workshop which is held every summer for high school students interested in journalism.

The Professional Clothes Closet in the Gordon Ford College of Business will receive $30,000 to ensure students have business attire for job interviews, and $14,000 will be given to the 100th anniversary celebration of women’s right to vote.

The WKU Sisterhood is an organization of women advancing university priorities through philanthropic engagement.
