  • KY 90 (mile point 10.09) – A long-term temporary closure of KY 90 is expected to begin Monday, Oct. 5. The road will be completely closed between Franklin Street and Morgan Street for approximately 45 days. A signed detour will direct motorists to U.S. 68X (Broadway Street/Columbia Avenue), KY 1519 and the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Expressway. Motorists should plan for additional travel time during the closure.

  • Crews will complete drainage improvements at several locations along this section of roadway. A new turn lane will be added on U.S. 31-E at Windy Hills Road. Minor roadway widening also will be completed throughout the corridor. The widening will create a 4-foot centerline buffer between opposing travel lanes. Overnight paving is expected to begin this week.

The project is expected to be completed sometime in 2027. Delays and traffic queues should be expected. Monday, Sept. 7, this section of road will be down to one lane from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists should expect additional traffic backup and delays.
