PORTLAND, Tenn. – The Portland Police Department arrested an individual on drug and traffic offenses following a traffic stop.

According to the Portland Police Department social media post, a traffic stop was conducted on Highway 31 after officers observed several traffic violations Sunday.

PPD says a K9 officer alerted officers to the vehicle, where they discovered an open alcohol container and approximately 13.34 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

“For perspective, at an estimated 0.1 gram per dose, that amount represents approximately 134 individual doses of methamphetamine,” PPD stated in the social media post.

Officers arrested the driver and charged them with traffic offenses and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to resell.

PPD did not identify the driver in the social media post.

The investigation is ongoing.
