NorCal Crepe House opens new doors after food truck

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A local Bowling Green business has decided to open new doors after starting in a food truck a year ago.

“They were excited to hear about the opportunity, so we jumped on it. It’s time to do it,” said Josh Grom, one of the owners of the NorCal Crepe House, now located on Nashville Road.

The business started off on wheels in a food truck in June of 2025 and now they’ve opened new doors Friday.

“We know we’ve had a lot of fans about the food truck. We don’t know how many would carry over to the restaurant pretty immediately, so it’s been a great response from the whole community,” said Tanya Grom, owner of the NorCal Crepe House.

First the pair started the business with family only employees. Now they list more than 20 employees from across south-central Kentucky.

“We went from zero employees. It was just a family run food trailer and now we’re at 25 employees so far give or take,” the two said together.

They honor having a camaraderie environment and welcomes people in Bowling Green to grow just as they did.

“We love the opportunity to be a start for some people. That’s been the biggest enjoyment for us. We take pride in being as local as possible and hiring as many local people and dealing with as many local vendors as possible to keep every dollar we can in the community,” Josh Grom said.

The name NorCal stemmed from Josh’s hometown region in northern California, making it personal but the most special thing about the business is its menu.

“With crepes it’s kind of personal for us. We have a daughter that is autistic and it’s very, very different in what she eats. There is one thing that I can make from scratch that she eats and it’s one of our crepes,” said Josh Grom.

Now they’re giving the opportunity of a bite shared at home with love, to be enjoyed by the community. “So being able to take that and turn that into a business idea just hit home for us,” Josh Grom said.

So if you’re in the mood for a California spin on your taste buds, you’re in for a win at NorCal Crepe House.

“Give it a shot. They’re definitely not traditional crepes,” said Josh Grom.
