Lost River Cave’s Scarecrow Trail open for the season

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lost River Cave’s Scare Crow Trail is open and as creative as always!

Katie Cielinski, the director of philanthropy at the cave, says the trail is lined with exhibits that creators spent a lot of time putting together.

“Some of them build all fall, and then we have other ones that turn it around in a couple of days. There’s some fantastic exhibits that came in last minute that you’re going to be surprised how great they are,” said Cielinski.

One visitor and his client, Billy Joe, enjoyed their walk through the trail.

“Me and my, he’s my client, we typically do this every year and pretty much just to get outside and really, like, enjoy nature. It’s a great day outside. So the walking part I need. So this was beneficial for me and him,” said Curtis Kenner, a visitor to the park.

The trail was packed, Monday, with families exploring and taking in the exciting displays on a beautiful October afternoon.

“The goal of the scarecrow trail is to get people outdoors, to come and enjoy the weather and each other. And we’ve got a new feature. We started it last year, but we’re excited to see it continue. Where you can vote for your favorite, and particularly, you can donate to vote. So if you’ve got a scarecrow that really speaks to you that you want to see win some prizes, donate to vote is a great way to give them bonus points and also support the park that supports the community,” said Cielinski.

This yearly event is open to the public until Oct. 25 during normal park hours.
