City roadway to close, crews investigating a collapse

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A portion of a Bowling Green street will be closed as crews investigate a roadway collapse near a stormwater line.

According to the City of Bowling Green, a portion of Chestnut Street between the U.S. 31W Bypass and 2nd Avenue is closed Monday, with the possibility of extending into Tuesday.

Officials say crews are investigating the collapse and will dig out affected areas to determine the cause.

The city says there will be no thru traffic on Chestnut Street during the investigation and motorists should avoid the area if possible.
