BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Kentucky Forest Fire Hazard Season starts on Thursday, Oct. 1.

According to the Warren County Fire Department System, this statewide burn restriction season lasts through Dec. 15. However, it differs from a full burn ban.

During this time, the notice says it is unlawful for a person to “set fire to or procure another to set fire to any flammable material capable of spreading fire, l0cated in or within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland, except between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., prevailing local time or when the ground is covered in snow.”
