US National Guard member has been arrested, charged with strangulation and assault

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A U.S. National Guard member has been arrested in Bowling Green after he allegedly strangled a victim until they passed out, according to an arrest citation.

Twenty-seven-year-old Xavion Rigsby of Bowling Green is accused of showing up at the victim’s home where a physical altercation began.

According to the citation, Rigsby was seen on security footage strangling the victim.

Deputies say according to the victim, this occurred at least two times, the second time leading to the victim passing out and waking up in her bedroom, where Rigsby is accused of shutting and locking the door.

A child was also inside the residence, according to authorities.

When the victim said they would call the police, Rigsby took their phone and Apple Watch and left the residence, authorities say. 

The victim was taken to the hospital, where authorities say doctors have expressed concern that the victim may have a broken neck. 

Deputies say they went to Rigsby’s residence to locate him and saw him drive by the home while they were there.

Rigsby is accused of speeding away from deputies and running a red light before deputies activated their emergency equipment and he pull over in front of Moss Middle School where he was taken into custody without incident.

Rigsby is charged with first-degree strangulation, first-degree burglary, disregarding traffic control device-traffic light, first-degree assault and theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others $1,000 < $10,000.

Rigsby is lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
