Hart County jury sentences Barren County woman to 10 years for child abuse

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – A Hart County jury sentenced a Barren County woman to ten years in jail for child abuse.

According to the Kentucky State Police, a Hart County jury convicted 24-year-old Ashley Anderson of Cave City of two counts of first-degree criminal abuse (child under 12) on Aug. 24 after a four-day trial.

KSP says information about Anderson’s child sustaining a broken arm and multiple contact burns was reported in 2024. Following an investigation, A Hart County Grand Jury indicted Anderson in February 2025.

After deliberation, the jury found Anderson guilty of both counts and sentenced her to ten years on each count to run concurrently for a total of ten years.

Hart County law enforcement assisted Kentucky State Police in its investigation.

KSP says Anderson will appear before the Hart County Circuit Court on Nov. 12, 2026 for final sentencing.
