Bowling Green man charged with burglary of local shop

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is behind bars on a burglary charge.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded to a theft in progress at an auto shop located at 834 Barry Street. Authorities say the caller stated a male subject ran from the scene toward the Salvation Army.
Police say they identified the male as 44-year-old William Allen of Bowling Green.
Authorities say Allen falsely claimed to own the shop and admitted to entering it.
According to police, the shop owner stated Allen had caused at least $1,000 in property damage. Allen allegedly also possessed property from the shop.
Allen was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.
He faces charges of third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others and first-degree criminal mischief.
