2026 Football Frenzy Preview: Allen-County Scottsville
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The next Football Frenzy preview, presented by Bowling Green Fireplace and Grill, features Allen-County Scottsville.
Last season didn’t go as planned for the Patriots, but they are ready to use an 0-10 record in 2025 as fuel this fall.
“No one in the world is gonna go through an 0-10 season and be happy about it,” senior Burkley Felty said. “Missing playoffs for the first time in 20-something years… no one will ever be happy about that, and I think that’s what helped us mature. You got to go through the rough times to get to the good times. You have to deal with the shot to the heart and turn around and make it something good.”
The Patriots are prepared to bounce back in 2026, but it’s not just on the field that this team is looking to make good.
“At the end of the day, I want them to be champions on the field, but I want them to be better men,” head coach Brad Hood said. “I want them to be something that this town can get behind, win or lose. We’re just trying to mold better Patriots for our school and for our town, because in our town, it’s us.”
This summer, ACS’s practices have featured more running, more training and more control, and the Patriots’ goal for 2026 goes deeper than just finding victory on Friday nights.
“Obviously (our goal is to) win, but be a team while we do it,” senior Jeremiah Vaughn said. “Fight together while we win games, or if we lose some. Just being a team and not regretting what you do.”
The Patriots learned a lot from a winless year but are confident fans will see how the adversity made them better primed for this season.
“I think when they come out on Friday nights, they’re gonna be ready to play,” Hood said. “They’re not gonna overlook anything, they’re not gonna think anything comes easy, because we know winning is something that you’ve got to earn. We know we’ve got a very good district, we know we’ve got a very tough schedule and we know that no weeks are gonna be easy. We’re gonna prepare the best we can for those weeks… we’re ready to hit it full speed ahead.”
Allen-County Scottsville opens the season at home against Westmoreland in the Cole Lumber Bowl on Friday, August 21.
