Memphis man charged with promoting human trafficking in Smiths Grove

SMITHS GROVE, Ky. – A Tennessee man is charged with promoting human trafficking in Smith Grove.

According to a release by the Smiths Grove Police Chief Jason Franks, the Smiths Grove Police Department responded Tuesday, Aug. 11 to 4001 Smiths Grove Scottsville Road regarding a disturbance.

Authorities say it was reported 46-year-old Brandon Williams of Memphis, Tennessee was traveling with another person while refusing to allow that individual to leave with their property.

Police say they also found a gun and illegal drugs.

Smith Grove police say they were assisted by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing.

Williams was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, promoting human trafficking and possession of marijuana.
