Lawless Orthodontics hosts ‘Smiles Change Lives,’ free braces screening event

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lawless Orthodontics is continuing its partnership with Smiles Change Lives this Thursday for its 16th annual free braces screening event.

The event aims to provide free screenings to families who might otherwise struggle to afford orthodontic care.

Organizers say the program helps give children more confidence through their smiles.

Dr. Jay Lawless spoke about his goal for the children who enter the program.

“We don’t want to leave any kids behind who qualify for the program and need care. Confidence is such a powerful thing,” Lawless said. “We receive so much gratitude from families, and we want to get these children in the right direction so they have that confidence as they hit middle and high school.”

The screening event saw between 15 to 20 children.

To qualify for the Smiles Change Lives program, a child must be seven to 18 years old, have good oral hygiene, have no unfilled cavities and have a moderate to severe need for braces.
