George Fant Sr. speaks on experience with silent heart attack

SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY – One southern Kentucky man’s life was saved after he was rushed to the hospital due to a heart attack.

 George Fant Sr. said that on a regular Monday, he had a high blood pressure.

Noting his symptoms, his son scheduled him for a doctor’s appointment and after the visit, he was told to immediately go to the ER. Fant said he had no symptoms outside of high blood pressure.

He not only had a heart attack but also a 100% clogged organ.

He said he is grateful for the nurses who caught the signs and the doctors at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, who gave urgent care a new perspective and saved his life.

“Wednesday morning, she called and told me that I needed to go to the ER. I called my son and we went to the ER. Then they kept me overnight. Thursday morning, I got up and went to the bathroom and came back and got ready to brush my teeth. The nurse came in and she said you need to go sit down. Then she said you need to lay down. Then after that, about five minutes later, that’s when it struck me that I was having a heart attack,” George Fant Sr. said. 

The Fants said it’s important to know the signs of a heart attack.

Now, Geroge Fant Sr. is at home enjoying his family, retirement and getting his health back on the right track.
